In this episode of Financial Cents, Brent Cannon, EVP and Director of Community Banking, and Chris Sarver, Vice President and Business Banking Team Lead, along with special guest Carly Klein, Founder and President of National Hair Loss Med Aesthetic, discuss the impacts of these businesses historically having less access to capital. We then dive into explaining what the Small Business Diversity Banking Program is and how it can help women, minority, veteran and LGBTQ business owners.
Small Business Diversity Banking Program
Small Business Loans for Minority, Women, Veteran and LGBTQ-Owned Businesses
Carly was growing her business at a rapid rate but was running into a ceiling with traditional underwriting guidelines. That’s when Chris Sarver from National Bank of Arizona suggested to Carly to apply for the Small Business Diversity Banking Program. As a female business owner, Carly qualified and within weeks was able to get the lines of credit she needed for her business.
“[It] alters traditional underwriting guidelines to make it easier for small businesses, specifically minority, veteran, women and LGBTQ-owned businesses to access capital quickly,” Chris Sarver explains, “that was the design of the program and that’s how it helped Carly to grow because we could get access to capital quickly for her.”
